We decided to go to Amsterdam on a whim. It was quite an adventure especially because we had to think on our feet and had no plans at all. We arrived at the Bremen train station around 2:45, purchased our tickets, and started the five hour journey with 3 train changes at 3pm. We thought, how hard can it be? Well, when the train stops are in a different language if you're not 100% alert, which is hard to do when you're excited and being spontaneous, you might accidentally get off at the wrong train station and have to re-route. This is what happened to us, so instead of arriving in Amsterdam at 7:50 we ended up getting there around 8:30. So we're a little late, it's ok we have no plans, we thought. Well... little did we know that we'd spend the next 2 hours looking for a hotel! We got rejected from so many hotels, saw the last room get booked before our eyes, it was a bit discouraging, if we felt the pain of rejection I can't imagine what Mary & Joseph felt back in the day. Anyway, we finally found a hotel and after freshening up decide to go for a walk and dinner :)
